Hello~
Long time no update ;;3;;!!
After a long flight and hectic final exams, I'm finally back to Thailand! YAY~ nothing better than home don't you think so? :D
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas party! I was home all the time since traffic in BKK was really bad during Christmas, but it's always good to be with family :D!!
Today, guess what? I went to a small meetup with friends. We talked a lot and ate a lot ;;3;; I can't believe I didn't come back to my hometown only a year and it changed a lot like I haven't been back here 5 or more years. [will have to come back home sooner though T^T I'll miss everybody in the US!]

ooh yes, I brought Richard back home too! [I brought so many dolls this time] I think at least 6 dolls and will leave them in Thailand since it's almost time for my graduation.
My friends told me Richard is a kinder Williams...may be the kindest one they've seen? haha I think I can see it now [so mothery to this little Hinata XD]
I have to go. There will be another meet up coming up on Monday! I miss doll meet-up sooooo much!!! [I missed a lot of meet up in SF as well because of work T^T]

This year my family didn't prepare anything special for the dinner, but my sister bought a small Stollen on her way back from her apartment, so I decided to open up a bottle of Appletiser. Good enough. :)

3 of my kids saw it (separately) and raved about it and said how I would LOOOOOOVE it and how it was just my sort of movie....
I was more than content to wait for the DVD. Am getting to the 'grumpy old lady' stage - cinema going is more of a pain than it is enjoyable; specially the part with having to SHARE my space with the Public. Public who slurp and sniff and cough and TALK all through the film. And then there's the cinema fuckups which happen far too often to be funny or anecdotal - not turning off the lights, getting the ratio wrong, killing the pic halfway through the film while the sound is still working -Oooops! AND I have to pay for the priviledge! Bugger that!
But ...
I happened *cough* across a copy of the soundtrack... James Horner = worth having despite never having heard it. Willow, Braveheart, Titanic, Mighty Joe Young! And then I listened to it...
OMG♥♥♥
And had to go see the movie yesterday! (cheap Tuesday) No NOT the 3D. (HEADACHES!) Cos if it was half as pretty as the music...

A collection of mostly 8-bit style songs given to me by a friend. Composed by a friend of said friend, if I recall correctly.

I've managed to salvage various things off my half-dead external hard drive. Mainly personal things like scans and photos but also a lot of collected stuff. I still have a lot of music stuck on there. I can re-rip or re-download most of it, but I won't give up until I have my harder-to-find songs off there.
I made cookies from store-bought dough yesterday and I watched The Hangover with my parents and sister. My mom loves that movie. I didn't really plan on doing much shopping for Christmas but I've picked up a few things. I hope no one will be disappointed. All I'd like for Christmas this year is good times and some peace of mind.
I checked out evening classes at the school I had in mind but it seems like they're not offering any art classes this semester. I'll look into evening courses at The Reykjavík School of Visual Arts but it's probably more expensive. I can't find any Finnish courses anywhere.
I can't find any time to read books any more, or to write letters. I don't leave the house much either to meet friends and I don't really seem to enjoy their company any more. |

Okay this is... strange. This all started because this guy was using my DA avatar and a bunch of people noted me... hoping to stop people noting me and to stop people from thinking this guy was me, I asked him to remove it. He took that as an open invitation to talk to me through notes. Since I usually play on the internet every night to wind down and go to sleep I humored him with replies.
It got weird.
So that's why I'm posting it for you guys to enjoy. The first reply was from my apology of sounding grumpy /tired when I asked him to change it(which I probably sound grumpy/tired in all of these replies because I am exhausted. I actually came back to my dorm to take a brief nap before working more...)

It's ironic because I actually chose to do my writing arts essay based on the artist-audience tendency to over analyze artists and their works to death even if the artist says "no I just drew this because it was fun"
Regardless am I just weird or does this guy sound really strange?
I also have to say I become really annoyed when I'm not allowed to dislike my own, old work. There are pieces I still like, but it's healthy for an artist to dislike their own work, I think.
Seriously, I'm going to school to make cartoons... I believe cartoon and animation is an art, yes, but I'm not one of those artists that's all into the deeper, underlying message of my deepest and darkest secrets. |

| Writer's Block: Holiday blues |

Well, I celebrate different holidays now. When I was a kid I celebrated Christmas, and I really loved the decorations and the tree and getting presents.
Now I celebrate Channukah and I generally try to keep it low-key, though I do buy presents for my daughter.
And I usually offer to work on Christmas if I'm not scheduled on, both for the extra pay and so someone who actually celebrates it can take it off. (I work in a nursing home.)
I think the most emotionally challenging aspect now is being alone. |
